And I Saw Birds Flying Above Me...

I haven't written here for a long time. Since the last post I've thought about a lot of things and learnt much, some through experiences I'd rather not go through again but most likely will. But I thought I'd just share what happened to me this morning. I stopped by at a petrol station to get some milk this morning on the way to church service. I walked out and suddenly, seemingly out of nowhere, I heard a mass of fluttering sounds above me. I looked up and caught perhaps one of the most beautiful sights I've seen this week: about two dozen birds just flying off into the sky in unison, almost as though they were doing it just to show off what they can do. And, having grumbled all day yesterday about the little things that I couldn't get - the sight reminded me of the little things that I could get. Almost like the Father in heaven dispensing little treats to his child just because he can, and just because it pleases him to do so. I was reminded not to take such small blessings for granted. He had made a group of pigeons to wait just so that at the right time, just at the right place - not before, not after, not anywhere else - they could take to the skies and I would be there to appreciate the wonder, grace and beauty that raised them there.
